Well... It's very mixed... The game itself it was good but at the same time it was bad, it's hard to say I didn't have fun but oddly enough at the same time it was disappointing as odd as that may sound.
Firstly I'll just skip the whole Halo/COD aspects that disappointed me that were already named in a previous thread I made. Well to me it wasn't challenging enough, I was able to beat it on hard (and you unlock a insane after it) and it took me 10.8 hours according to Steam, that's not counting how certain parts have this damned unskippable repeatable cut scene for times that you die you have to go through them every time, the beginning is like a tutorial at best that you wish you could skip but can't. It was also too linear in my honest opinion, sure there was the occasional places to go to get equipment that would help you but at the same time there is only one path, there is no other path to go onto. Level design was sometimes confusing as well... Though it was something so simple yet it didn't come to mind... There were some hints that were given at least for certain things while others were "erm... What?" well the other thing was the ending that I'm not going to spoil, not the ending ending but the end boss... It was anti climatic for me.
Now the positive, the puns, the references, the TITS. The jokes, puns, references were good but one that was the most hypocritical, the power armor reference to master slow poke, saying that power armor is for pussies, even though majority of the old school games that armor actually MADE a difference with what type you had on/acquired. Duke as well had power armor, yet he's mocking himself from back in the day when FPS were actually fun. Many jokes and laughs were in this though regardless, not going to spoil any of them though until perhaps later. Story line was kinda there but also WHO THE FUCK PLAYS DUKE NUKEM FOR STORY!?
That being said the game was... truly average at best... Sure there is worse, but there are better as well. Was it worth the hype/12 years not really but also at the same time it just went down hill in the game development somehow, they decided to turn a great game into a mediocre fest that is COD/Halo that gets pushed out for money, they sold out rather than selling out of stock. Though it was good seeing something somewhat different at least rather than the same game released each time. Best described it is something you eat that tastes good that leaves a bad after taste in your mouth (calling it now inb4retardedjokes).
